The FIFA U20 Womens World Cup statistics are out and after the group stages Korea DPR is the top goal scoring team, while Japan have earned the title of best attacking team.
Out of the 16 teams Korea DPR have scored 13 goals with 11 of those open play goals (during the run of play) and 2 of them set piece goals (from penalty kicks) averaging five goals per match.
Brazil finished second with 12 goals and Japan finished third with 11 goals, but Japan had more attempts at goal than any team with 57 shots at goal in three matches, they are followed by Germany who made 56 shots at goal for their 8 goals in three matches. Korea DPR comes in third with their 54 shots at goal for 13 goals in three matches.
Korea DPR also has forward Kim So Hyang who is the second highest goal scorer in the group stage with four goals in three matches, leading the goal scorer’s ladder after the group stage is Sweden’s number one top scorer Stina Blackstenius with five goals in three matches.
PNG did prove their faith depended on Goal Keeper Faith Kasiray who made a gallant effort with her only match against Korea DPR that saw her save 14 goal attempts in just her one game.
She leads the tally with her 14 saves she may have been the difference in the shoreline seeing Korea DPR made 30 goal attempts where 21 were on target and seven went off target while the final two were blocked, minus the seven off target and the two blocked and you have the 14 impressive saves.
Second in the count is New Zealnads goal keeper Nadia Olla who made 14 saves as well but she made them in three games.
The tournament is not over as the teams will be looking to score more goals in the finals stage as Korea DPR takes on Spain today at 4pm and Japan take on Brazil at 7:30pm at the National Football Stadium, Friday will see USA take on Mexico at 4pm and Germany take on France at 7:30pm at the Sir John Guise stadium.
