Ghana the African princesses have had a tough run in the tournament finishing with a loss and two draws in their FIFA U20 Womens World Cup tourney.

The Black princesses left disappointed yesterday after a very hard fought tournament that saw them get so close to getting into the quarterfinals.
Ghana was a crowd favorite in Group C with Papua New Guineans always chanting in all their three games, a lot more than what the other teams got.

Long time Ghana Womens coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani was happy that the team he had been working with towards the lead up to the tournament and their journey during the tournament was a positive experience.

But Dramiani always knew his girls had what it took to be the best in the 2016 FIFA U20 Womens World Cup.

The team had lost its first game in Group C in the 89th minute of the match against New Zealand, while they drew with France who scored the equalizing goal in injury time after the 90th minute.

Dramani kept his hopes high against knowing Ghana’s legacy of athleticism and pace and control of high balls would threaten the opposition, and it did, but the only set back was Ghana’s inability to close down the game when it had the opportunity.

Dramani said in the team’s final post match game that he knew the team had the potential because they always had the chances and the crowds support.

“We always had the knowledge that if we had scored more goals in the tournament we would have made the finals, we kept on throwing away our chances.

“But these are young women and I always believe they will improve as they are learning from this experiences,” Dramani said

Ghana captain Rasheda Abdul-Rahman was disappointed with their performance but held her composer, saying that it was the reality and they had to live with being the team that could not continue.

“It is disappointing but, that’s football there has to be a winner and a looser, and that’s part of the game, we had made corrections to our game plan coming into our final Group game, but we just couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities,” Abdul-Rahman said
